Heath Ledger

I saw on the news that Heath Ledger died a couple of days ago, possibly from a drug overdose. This saddens me. Here is a man who had what we might perceive as 'everything' and yet his life ended in such tragedy. What comes to mind is the following statement by Christ:
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? (Matt. 16:26)

I find it interesting how certain religious groups of people will exploit things like the following to try to come up with "moral lessons." It's quite shocking, appalling and highly offensive.

Nonetheless your thought that this was a possible drug overdose is wrong. He was taking the suggested amounts for a multitude of medication; apparently he suffered a great deal from anxiety. I find this somewhat ironic since you do as well, yet should we also assume things about you?

Selectively choosing words from a philosopher is also funny; didn't Christ also say we shouldn't look at other's faults? Do you know Ledger wasn't a Christian? Do you read his heart? Of course not, you are making quite a few assumptions.

Regardless as someone who has lost a friend before due to an accidental drug overdose because a doctor prescribed the wrong amount, I know that the medication industry we have currently is not perfect and events like this do happen - though they are quite sad. I feel bad for his family, friends and others who cared for him. Perhaps we should just leave it at that without trying to teach moral lessons?
